B-O-R-E-D

I am so bored, have been all day. I think I have been feeling a little cooped up. It has been raining since yesterday afternoon and Adam is on night shifts (last one before we go to Europe)! We did go the the Peguis Fun Fair yesterday and got some mini donuts and Adam won some weird stuffed ball thing, then it started to thunder and rain a lot so we packed it in early. It was fun and the Peguis Band was putting on a BBQ so we each had some hamburgers and sat and watched a lot of children running around looking quite unattended. But I guess most people know each other out here so someone was watching them? I might go make some no-bake cookies to pass the evening as the satellite TV keeps cutting out.

Oh, and tomorrow is the last official day for my class, though I don't expect very many to show up. My guess is...3 maybe 4 students, only time will tell.

Really?

So after yet another run for it from the car to the back door, to avoid the bugs of course, I notice none other than a slithery, slimy, super sick snake! Okay, so maybe it was only the size of a ruler, but it was within a ruler's length of my feet...and more importantly the door to our house! I don't know about this place in the summer, what else will I encounter?

I can't wait for Europe...only 9 more days!

Bug Season...aka Summer in Peguis

I've decided to keep a record of Adam and my experiences (mostly mine) whilst here in Peguis, MB...as there are so many (can you sense the sarcasm?) Experience of today: Grocery shopping in Fisher Branch at the Co-Op, Passed Adam on the highway on the way home. As soon as I get into our driveway and open the trunk, I am immediately attacked by bugs of all kinds, it is overwhelming how many have popped up since the rains have ceased. Not only are they disgusting bugs, but they sound like bees! If you know me, you know how much I dislike those stinkers so I was moving very quickly to get those groceries from the trunk to the car...I made it with no stingers and I am pretty sure none of them followed me in the house as I stood and listened for a minute or two. Not only do these bugs swarm when you go outside, they are constantly running into the windows of our house. While sitting in our living room, I keep hearing "plunk, plunk...plunk, plunk". Stupid bugs, you can't go through the windows! When will they ever learn?
